Strategy and Analytics Engineering, BNY Mellon
Tom Solecki is the Head of Strategy and Analytics for Engineering at BNYM. In this role, he is responsible for setting and overseeing the execution of the strategy across the Global Engineering functions, which span software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity and data. Tom sets the analytics agenda to drive insights for the organization, as well as focuses on evaluating future technologies and how they can support BNY Mellon’s business strategy. Most recently, Tom has been focused on developing the Artificial Intelligence strategy and the creation of the AI Hub for the bank.
Tom previously was the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for BNY Mellon’s Global Operations & Technology division where he was responsible for the Financial oversight and strategic planning of the 30,000-person Operations and Technology team. He covered financial planning and analysis, workforce management, the efficiency agenda, among other cross- functional initiatives. Prior to joining BNY Mellon in 2019 as the CFO and CAO for Operations, Tom spent 10 years at JPMorgan in the Finance and Business Management department, supporting Wholesale Payments Operations, Client Services and Client Boarding /KYC for the Corporate and Investment Bank. As a Business Manager, he split his time between the day-to-day execution and developing the longer-term strategic vision for the organization.
Throughout Tom’s career, he has developed and executed location strategy plans including opening a new global delivery center, created a metrics focused management process and uplifted end-to-end fraud and KYC programs.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Ramapo College in New Jersey. Outside of BNYMellon, he chairs the Future Leaders Board, which advises Futures in Education, a not-for-profit based in Brooklyn, NY focused on education.
