Diane Caddle is a Director in the Ministry of Justice. She is also a Non-Executive Director at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

Immediately before this she was Head of Team for Baroness Casey’s ground-breaking Review of the Metropolitan Police Service which found systemic problems with recommended actions for wholesale change.

She was the first black female Executive Director in His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service where she was responsible for prisoner safety and rehabilitation across 130 prisons.

Diane started her career as a researcher in the Home Office. She then changed direction and moved to private office leading on ministerial parliamentary affairs.  She has worked in Cabinet Office on civil service reform, in a cross departmental organisation joining up national and local criminal justice delivery, and in policy and strategy roles.

She stepped out of Government for four years to be the senior adviser for an independent review concerned with allegations of historical sexual abuse of 
children in care.

Diane is passionate about diversity and inclusion. She regularly speaks at events, sharing her leadership journey, to encourage the next generation of diverse leaders. 

She received a Woman of Excellence Award from the National Economic Forum.
